Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology, active SLP license and 1+ year of Speech-Language Pathology experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This full-time contract position is ideal for a certified Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) with a passion for working in a K-12 school environment. Located in Baytown, TX, the role involves managing a challenging caseload within a public school setting during the current school year.
Responsibilities include serving as the primary case manager for approximately 30 speech-only students out of a total caseload of 160 students. The main focus will be on conducting evaluations and attending Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) meetings to assess the progress and readiness of students for dismissal from services. Therapy responsibilities will primarily be handled by the SLP Assistant, allowing the SLP to devote attention to assessment and case management activities.
Ideal candidates should possess:
- A valid Texas Speech-Language Pathologist license (active TX licensure required)
- Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC) preferred but not mandatory
- Experience working in school settings, especially with K-12 students
- Strong skills in evaluation and case management within educational environments
- The ability to manage a demanding caseload and work collaboratively with educational teams
- Vocational certification (VOCO) holders are encouraged to apply
